Gerrards Cross fell further behind the Thames Valley Premier League Division One pacesetters on Saturday with a comprehensive six-wicket defeat at home to Falkland.
Winning the toss and electing to bat, Gerrards Cross fell to 29-4 thanks to some tight bowling from Charlie Dale (2-20).
However, Chris Marrow batted superbly at number three, finishing 120 not out with some aggressive play towards the end of the innings. Wickets fell throughout, but Marrow took the Cross to 220-7 with the support of Malky Dhaliwal (33) and Richard Knudsen (20).
In response, Falkland put pressure on the Cross bowlers from the off. Despite losing a couple of early wickets, Saggar Chhabria (60 off 58 balls), James Lauder (43 not out) and Will Langmead (35 off 17 balls) took Falkland home only four wickets down and 14 overs to spare.
Gerrards Cross are away to High Wycombe 2s on Saturday.
