THE lawn bowling season is well under way now and Chesham Bowls Club are enjoying quite a successful campaign so far.

Chesham

played the first leg of the Benevolent Cup against High Wycombe and unfortunately lost at home 124-104. The top rink contained Alan Lammin, Robert, Ray Morgan and Geoff Denham.

Chesham hosted travelling club London Welsh and unfortunately lost on this occasion 124-105. The top rink for the losing side was Gill Henderson, Morgan, Helen Fillery and John Henderson.

The second May Bank Holiday saw the annual Ladman Cup - a men versus ladies match.

The men came out on top for the second year in a row, winning by a very small margin 89-82. The top rink was Colin Parsons, Grant Jenkins and Trevor Bateman.

Chesham played in the second round of the Top Club competition at Amersham and won on three of the five disciplines - pairs, triples and four woods. They sadly lost in the singles and two wood but put up a very good show on an away green that bowled extremely well.
