Wycombe racer AJ Owen had another brilliant weekend at Silverstone when he won round eight in the Classic Touring Car Championship at Silverstone.

Rounds seven and eight of the championship were held at the iconic Northamptonshire circuit and although Owen finished the weekend strongly, it couldn’t have started in worse fashion.

Qualifying saw Owen on the front row, second overall but first in class.

Owen got of to a very good start with three abreast going into the first corner, however the BMW soon took the lead, but sadly for Owen his race came to a premature end as the Honda Civic Type R lost all power.

The next few hours were spent trying to find why it had lost all power, they even got to the point where they had given up but an electrical fault was eventually rectified.

Owen’s did not finish from the first race saw him starting from the back of the grid, but he kept pushing and pushing and eventually got up to third and got in front at the last moments for a dramatic victory.
