HIGH Wycombe bounced back to winning form in Division One of the Home Counties Premier Cricket League after a 46-run victory at Horspath on Saturday.
Horspath won the coin toss and elected to field first at the Recreation Ground, with the visitors making 196 runs all out from 64 overs.
Captain and number three
Dan Marlestop-scored with 51 runs from 126 balls, with four boundaries and one maximum hit. It is his second half-century of the summer and raises his average to 53.45 this season.
Opening batsman Eliot Callis made 47 from 81, and he and Marles put on 55 runs for the second wicket.
Number five Matthew Gouldstone added 31 while both Lloyd Paternott and George Russell both made 24.
Tom Cosford was the pick of the Horspath bowlers with his figures of 4-78 from 22 overs, which included the wicket of Thomas Hampton for a third ball duck.
Lloyd Belcher took the wicket of Callis in his 4-92 from 26 overs whilst the other fell to Will Eason (1-11 from six overs).
The home side managed 150 runs all out from 43.2 overs in response to suffer a fourth defeat from six matches this season, which leaves them in eighth position in the table.
Number eight Mark Skelton was the leading runs scorer with an unbeaten 34 from 69 balls, with four boundaries and one maximum hit.
Daryll Brown, batting at number four, made 20, captain Will Eason 18 and William Hawtin 16.
Conner Haddow led the
High Wycombebowling attack with his figures of 4-43 from 15 overs, which included the wicket of Hawtin, caught and bowled.
Hampton claimed the wickets of James Phillips (10) and Cosford (14) in his 3-17 from 7.2 overs, while Cameron Parsons took 2-37 from 11 overs.
High Wycombe 2s have dropped one place to eighth position in Division One of the Thames Valley League following their winning draw at home to Falkland.
Opening batsmen Teddy Casterton smashed 111 runs from 109 balls, with 11 boundaries and three maximum hits as High Wycombe made 226-5 from 37 overs.
Captain John Stevens made 60 while Chris Dale took 5-97 from 19 overs.
Falkland managed 205-8 from 33 overs in response thanks to Sagar Chhabria (64) and Ben Piper (47). Harry Lane too 4-67 from 10 overs.
High Wycombe host Stoke Green this Saturday (1pm).
