AMERSHAM failed in their attempt to complete a hat-trick of wins in Division Two of the Home Counties Premier League after a four-wicket defeat at Wokingham on Saturday.

into bat first at Sadlers End, with the visitors reaching 216-9 from 58 overs.

Captain Andrew Viney was the leading runs scorer with 98 from 152 balls, including 10 boundaries and one maximum hit. It is his second half-century of the season and takes his average to 57.22.

Opening batsman Acheen Rajapaksa made 29 from 71 balls and the pair put on 55 runs for the third wicket, before Viney and Maduka Liyanapathiranage (28) added 50 in a fourth wicket partnership.

Max Uttley was the pick of the Wokingham bowlers with his figures of 4-40 from 12 overs, which included the wickets of Robert Viney (13) and Luke Jackson (12).

The home side reached 217-6 in 49.4 overs in response for a fourth win this season which sees them climb above Amersham and into sixth place in the league table.

Number five Michael Bates top-scored with 54 runs from 69 balls, including eight boundaries. It is his second half-century of the season and takes his average to 26.44.

James Bird, batting at number six, made 44 from 60 balls and the pair put on 67 runs for the fifth wicket, after Archie Carter added 47 while opening the batting.

Samuel Helm led the Amersham bowling attack with his figures of 3-96 from 24.4 overs which included the wickets of Carter and Bird, plus captain Stuart Parsons (6).

The defeat means Amersham have dropped to eighth position in the table ahead of a visit to Shardeloes from Thame Town this Saturday (11.30am).

Chesham completed a treble of wins at The Meadow following their nine-wicket victory over bottom side Dinton.

Dinton won the toss and elected to bat first but were bowled out for 103 runs in 34.5 overs.

Opening batsman Bhavan Jeyanathan was the leading runs scorer with 32 runs from 57 balls, including five boundaries.

bowlers with his figures of 4-18 from 9.5 overs, which included the wickets of Jeyanathan and captain Will Fisher (19).

Matthew Warner caught and bowled Jack Mercer for a third ball duck in his 2-15 from six overs.

The home side reached 105-1 in 16.4 overs in response for a fourth win this season which takes them to fourth place in the table.

Number three Robin Pritchard top-scored with an unbeaten 43 runs from 40 balls, including five boundaries and three maximum hits.

Opening batsman Andy Goddard carried his bat through for 40 from 44 balls and the pair put on 82 runs in an unbroken second wicket stand.

Zargham Ali took the wicket of captain Matthew Rance (20) in his 1-24 from 4.4 overs.

Chesham travel to Harefield this Saturday where a win would see them leapfrog their hosts into third position in the league.

Burnham ended a three-match winless streak after a 74-run win at Cookham Dean.

Burnham won the toss and chose to bat first at Ricketts Field, the visitors making 154 runs all out from 49 overs.

Captain and opening batsman Rizwan Nadeem was the leading runs scorer with 46. Fahad Raja made 25 and the pair put on 70 runs for the first wicket.

Sahan Nanayakkara was the destroyer-in-chief for Cookham with his figures of 7-40 from 17 overs, which included the wickets of Raza Ali Dar, Syed Bukhari and Muhammad Haroon all without troubling the scorers.

It is the first time this season Nanayakkara has taken a five-wicket haul and means he has an average of 16.17 for the summer.

The home side were bowled out for 80 runs in 46.4 overs in response to suffer a defeat which sees them remain in the two relegation spots in the table.

Number three Yash Rastogi top-scored with 20 but Wasim Ahmed, batting at number 11, was the only other batsman to reach doubles figures with an unbeaten 13.

Farhaan Khan led the Burnham bowling with figures of 5-28 from 16.4 overs, which included the wicket of Robert Mettler for a duck. It is the second time this season he has taken a five-wicket haul and takes his average to 12.66 for the summer.

The win means Burnham now stand in fifth position in the league table ahead of a visit to The Memorial Ground from Wokingham this Saturday. Cookham Dean travel to Oxford Downs.
