Wycombe Wanderers have made their sixth summer signing, left-back Jamie Mascoll joining on a one-year contract.

The 22-year-old impressed during a trial earlier in the summer, picking up two assists in friendlies against Barnet and Brentford.

Manager Gareth Ainsworth said: “Jamie is very quick, very athletic and has shown he’s got an excellent delivery on him, so we believe he’s got the attributes that give us another option in the left-back role.

“For the past five years, Joe Jacobson has absolutely made that position his own and deservedly so because he’s been an outstanding performer for us. In order for us to develop the squad, we need strength in depth and competition across the park, and Jamie will give us an extra dimension when called upon.

“I’ve been really pleased with the calibre of players we’ve been able to bring in this summer so far, which is testament to the hard work of (assistant manager) Richard Dobson and all my staff, the chairman, the backing of Rob Couhig, Mark Palmer and Pete Couhig, and of course the fans who’ve pledged an amazing amount of money through the 500 Club.

“I don’t think we’re quite finished just yet, but Jamie is another important part of the squad who’s fitted in really well so far and I’m sure the fans will make him feel very much at home.”
