HIGH Wycombe Lawn Tennis Club had a great turnout for its Open Day despite some poor weather on Saturday.

It was a part of the Lawn Tennis Association Tennis for Free campaign, and people of all ages turned out for some free coaching and social play.

Guy Britton is head coach at the club and said: "It was great to see so many people turn out on a wet day.

"We've lots of programmes in the Wycombe area to cater for al abilities and ages. Our programmes start for children aged four and our eldest member is in their 80s."

Councillor Julia Wassell attended the event and re-kindled her passion for the game. She said afterwards it was great to have a club like High Wycombe supporting the area.

Britton also coaches at Ash Hill School in a new tennis course that is free for children aged 4-14.

Britton and his team will be holding Summer Camps and full details can be found at hwltc.co.uk or via email at info@luvtennis.net.
