WYCOMBE Wanderers forward Nick Freeman has signed a two-year extension to his contract that will keep him at Adams Park until June 2022.

Freeman, 23, arrived at the club in 2016 and is closing in on 100 appearances, catching the eye particularly in recent weeks with match-winning contributions against MK Dons and Southend United.

Wycombe manager Gareth Ainsworth said: “Nick has come on leaps and bounds since turning professional with us in 2016. He’s worked so hard on his game to develop and become a really important player for us.

“Coming from non-league, he’s had to be patient for his opportunities sometimes, but he’s always got his head down and given 100 per-cent every day.

"He deserves this new contract because I see him playing a big part this season and in years to come.

“He’s got that ability to change a game in a heartbeat and he’s another exciting option in our attack who is popular with the fans and his teammates too.”
