FLACKWELL Heath returned to winning form in the Hellenic Premier Division after a 3-1 victory against Reading City on Tuesday, writes Rob Stevens.

The Heathens took the lead with a goal from captain Josh Baines but Reading equalised from the penalty spot before the break at Wilks Park.

Flackwell restored their advantage in the second half through player-manager Marcus Richardson before former City player Khalid Simmo added a third goal in time added on.

The win means The Heathens have moved up to ninth position in the league table and six points behind leaders Binfield.

Flackwell made progress in the FA Vase following their 3-1 win against Arlesey Town in the first qualifying round on Saturday.

Arlesey took the lead early on in the second half at Wilks Park, before debutant Simmo, Weekes and Baines all struck to ensure victory for the home side.

The Heathens turn their attention to the FA Cup and a first qualifying round tie at Sutton Athletic from the Southern Counties East League Division One this Saturday (3pm).

Holmer Green recorded their first win in the Hellenic Premier this season after a 2-1 victory against Virginia Water at Watchet Lane in midweek.

The Green had earlier exited the FA Vase following a 1-0 defeat at home to Raunds Town from the United Counties League Division One in the first qualifying round on Saturday.

Holmer Green return to league action with a trip to Lydney Town this Saturday (3pm).
