THERE were celebrations at Beaconsfield on Saturday after all three of their Thames Valley League teams secured promotion this season.

The Beaconsfield first team clinched the Division 2b title after a convincing 120-run victory at home against Aldershot on Saturday.

Ross Richardson (78), David Heavyside (53) and Ed Barnett (43) led the way as they rattled up 268-7 from their 50 overs, after being put in to bat.

Seamer Todd Marchant then turned in his best display of the season with a great spell of 5-33 to help dismiss the visitors for 148 runs in 34.4 overs.

The result means that Beaconsfield are promoted back to Division One, finishing two points clear of Henley 2s. Aldershot, meanwhile, were relegated.

Beaconsfield 2s, who had already clinched promotion from Division 5a the previous week, lost by one run in a thrilling last game at Chalfont St Peter.

Chasing Chalfont’s 190 runs all out in 44.4 overs, Beaconsfield finished on 189-8, having needed seven for victory off the last over. Their top scorers were Freddie Pestana (45), Andy Keen (37) and Chris Kaye (34).

Beaconsfield 3s secured promotion from Division 8b with an 83-run success away to NPL 2s.

Billy Campbell (98) and David Justus (55) scored half-centuries as Beaconsfield amassed 281-7 from 40 overs, before NPL were restricted to 198-9.

Beaconsfield will receive their trophies at the league’s awards dinner at the Castle Hotel in Windsor on Friday 25th October.

Gerrards Cross finished the season in third position in Division One after a five-wicket win at home against Stoke Green on Saturday.

The Cross won the coin toss and elected to field first at Dukes Lane, with Stoke making 245 runs all out in 49 overs.

Saqlain Basharat was the leading runs scorer with 97 from 117 balls, whilst David Cleary took 2-40 from nine overs with the ball.

The home team managed 248-5 from 39.5 overs in response to finish the season 17 points behind champions Wargrave.

Omer Siddique top-scored with 73 runs from 98 balls and Chris Marrow made 63 from 58, whilst Zulfi Butt took 3-29 from 10 overs for the losing team.

High Wycombe finished the season in fifth position in Division One of the Home Counties Premier League after a nine wicket win at Tring Park on Saturday.

Tring won the toss and elected to bat first but could only manage 131 runs all out in 44 overs. Steven Clark and Rory Criddle both made 33, whilst Jonathan Burden claimed 3-15 from nine overs.

High Wycombe reached 134-1 in 16.2 overs in response thanks to Lloyd Paternott (86 not out from 52 balls) and captain Dan Marles (37 not out from 46 balls).
