MILLWALL have entered the race to lure current Wycombe Wanderers manager Gareth Ainsworth away from Adams Park.
The Lions have put Ainsworth in the frame to take over at The Den after the decision from Neil Harris to resign
Millwall caretaker manager Adam Barrett is also in the running and wants the role full-time after taking charge of the 2-1 win against Leeds United before the international break.
Gary Rowett, a former manager at Burton Albion, Birmingham City, Derby County and Stoke City, is also under consideration.
Ainsworth has impressed with the job he has done at Wycombe, who are in second position in League One after a strong start to the season with six wins and five draws from 12 league matches.
Millwall will face strong competition from Sunderland, with Ainsworth high on their shortlist to replace the sacked Jack Ross.
Sunderland have been given permission to speak with Ainsworth and it is understood the Chairboys would not stand in the way of him joining their league rivals.
Wycombe's next match is at home to Sunderland this Saturday.
