FLACKWELL Heath continue to make progress in the Hellenic League Challenge Cup this season after a 2-1 win against Virginia Water on Saturday, writes Rob Stevens.

The Waters took the lead inside two minutes at Wilks Park as Louis Sanders got himself on the end of a good cross from Adam McNamara.

The visitors then suffered a blow when both Paul Burrows and Jo McBride were forced off due to illness and injury.

Flackwell equalised as Marcos Ushiro-Lumb put in a lovely ball which found James Burrell and the midfielder made no mistake from close range in the 18th minute.

The Heathens had appeals for a penalty kick turned down when it appeared a cross from Ushiro-Lumb struck the arm of a sliding Virginia Water defender.

The hosts were awarded a spot-kick as Sinclair was shoved to the floor by a defender. Sinclair dusted himself down to score from the spot eight minutes before the break.

The protests from The Waters continued and Max Samyint found himself in the sinbin for 10 minutes. His afternoon got worse when he was sent to the sinbin for a second time after the break, meaning he could not return to the pitch for the remainder of the game.
