Dan Williams had four attempts at goal, twice having efforts cleared off the line by the keeper as well as hitting the crossbar, before the ball eventually went in after 35 minutes.

Chalfont grabbed the winning goal against the run of player when Williams robbed a defender of possession and slotted home in the 79th minute.

The win means The Saints are now just two points behind the play-off spots ahead of a trip to eighth-placed Westfield this Saturday (3pm).

Marlow recorded a fourth consecutive draw in the league when their match at Tooting & Mitcham United ended goalless last weekend.

The Blues have not won in the league since the victory at Waltham Abbey back in October and remain in 12th position in the table ahead of a visit to Oak Tree Road from Hertford Town this Saturday (3pm).
