BURNHAM completed a hat-trick of wins in the Hellenic League Premier Division after a 3-0 victory in the all-Bucks derby match against Holmer Green on Saturday, writes Rob Stevens.

The Blues have not tasted defeat in the league since the loss to Longlevens over four weeks ago, and this most recent success sees them climb to fourth position in the table.

A goal from Joey Gritt gave the home team the lead inside six minutes at The Gore, with Matthew Ayres bagging a brace in the second-half.

Burnham make the short trip to Bucks rivals Flackwell Heath on Boxing Day (12 noon).

The defeat means Holmer Green are still rooted to the bottom of the table and now six points from safety ahead of a visit to Watchet Lane from Binfield this Saturday (3pm).

Flackwell saw their match at Virginia Water postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at Stag Meadow last weekend, and action in Division One East was washed out due to rain as well.

Risborough Rangers are the unbeaten league leaders but saw their match against third-placed Milton United postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at the B.E.P Stadium.

Rangers head to Kidlington Development this Saturday (3pm), whilst Marlow United welcome Woodley United to the Alfred Davis Memorial Ground.

Penn & Tylers Green currently stand in 10th position in the table and welcome Long Crendon to Holloways Park this Saturday (3pm). Penn saw their match at Kidlington Development postponed due to a waterlogged pitch last weekend.

  • THE High Wycombe Junior Cup has reached its semi final stage this season with the two ties set to take place on Saturday 8th February.

Penn & Tylers Green Development will host Great Missenden, whilst Singh Sabha will be at home to East Berkshire League rivals FC Beaconsfield or Burnham Village.
