CHALFONT Saints Pythons Under 12s recovered from falling behind to beat Thames Valley Youth 3-2 in Division One of the Thames Valley Development League on Sunday.

The first half was even until late on when Chalfont scored when a cross from the right was headed in at the far post.

Thames Valley raised their game in the second period and piled on the pressure. The team scored two goals in quick success – the second an excellent long range shot that looped over the Saints keeper.

Chalfont did not panic under the pressure however and levelled the scores with a breakaway goal midway through the half. The Saints won the game when a penalty kick was awarded and the resulting spot-kick was coolly converted.

The result means the young Saints go joint top alongside Townmead Youth in Division One with two games left to play.

In the second division, Langley had a resounding 15-3 win against Frontline whilst RedKore Juniors A cruised past FC Cippenham Bears 7-1.
