Wycombe captain Matt Bloomfield has said that the team, ‘will not get carried away’, after they reached the same amount of points as last season.

After the Chairboys’ 3-1 win against Bristol Rovers on Saturday, Wycombe moved onto 53 points, which is the same amount they got in the whole of the 2018/19 campaign.

And despite being in second place, the skipper reiterated that it is important to stay level-headed.

Bloomfield said: “I’m certainly not going to get carried away and start thinking about promotion.

“All I want to do is focus on finishing on a high.

“It’s been a dream season to be where we are but it’s something none of us expected or was expected of us.

“We were expected to fight relegation all season.

"We’ve now hit 53 points which I believe is the same as we got last season and we’ve got 14 games to go.

“We are just taking each game as they come we’ve got Fleetwood on Tuesday night and if we get carried away with ourselves there will be a fall waiting for us.

“We need to literally take it every game at a time and make sure we prepare for Tuesday night and look forward to it.”

Wycombe have only lost one home game all season in the league.
