THE midweek results went Wycombe Wanderers’ way as Sunderland, Fleetwood Town, Coventry City and Rotherham United all drew, writes Robert Folker.

Wycombe did not have a fixture in midweek and the Chairboys manager was keeping a close eye on the other results.

Wycombe currently sit third in the table, two points behind Coventry and Rotherham, who take up the automatic places at the top of League One.

Gareth Ainsworth did not shy away from admitting he was keeping a close eye on other teams matches during the midweek clashes.

He told the Bucks Free Press: “Of course I was keeping an eye on out midweek games, you’ll get honesty from me. Other managers will say no we don’t look at the results it’s just about us.

“I’m a human being, who wouldn’t look at the other results, so of course we did and I think the results went quite well for us.

“But, again with 11 games to go, you can’t say it’s not down to what we do. I think those things come into play when you get down to your last two or three.

“As a human being you’d be crazy to say I don’t look at the results, but it doesn’t make a difference to what we do on a Saturday, we will go out there and perform.”
