FC BEACONSFIELD reached the semi final in the Ascot & District Fielden Cup after a 5-4 win on penalties at South Bucks United on Saturday, writes Rob Stevens.

The quarter final tie finished 1-1 after 90 minutes at the George Pitcher Memorial Ground with Nat Green on target for South Bucks.

Beaconsfield will travel to Old Windsor – who have a perfect winning record in the East Berkshire Premier Division – in the semi final on Saturday April 18.

Phoenix Old Boys A made progress in the Presidents Cup following their 3-2 win against Hype Train at the Calcot Recreation Ground in Reading. Phoenix will travel to higher-league Chalvey Sports A in round two of the competition this Saturday.

The Legea Ultimate Eleven Cup continued with Old Windsor beating Chalvey Sports A 7-0 in Pool B. Chris Atkins was the star on show with a hat-trick at the Recreation Ground while Jake Wright bagged a brace. There were further goals from both Harry F and Henry.

Singh Sabha consolidated fourth position in the Premier Division after a 2-1 win at Slough Heating Laurencians Reserves – who missed out on the chance to leapfrog them in the table.

There was a man-of-the-match performance from Sabha star Andrei Tonca while Hassan Monir returned to action after almost 18 months out of action due to injury.

Singh Sabha can still finish as high as second in the league table but both FC Beaconsfield and KS Gryf have a game in hand on them in the race for the runners-up spot.

There was nothing to separate Hounslow Wanderers and Stoke Poges Saints in a goalless draw at The Memorial Ground in Division One. Saints star Dan Parslow was named the man-of-the-match.

The draw means Hounslow remain in fifth position in the table and Stoke Poges sixth and both have four matches still to play this season.

The pick of the action this Saturday sees the Premier Division one-two Old Windsor and FC Beaconsfield clash at the Old Windsor Recreation Ground. The home team can secure the title with a win while Beaconsfield must take all three points back to Bucks to keep the title race alive.

Burnham Village return to action with a trip to Reading YMCA Vets in the quarter final to the Maidenhead Norfolkian Reserve Cup. The winners will be at home to the Reading YMCA Reserve team in the last four on Saturday March 28.

Premier Division rivals KS Gryf and Iver Heath meet at the Polish Association for a place in the last eight of the League Cup.

Old Windsor Reserves bid to close the gap on Division Two leaders Townmead with a win at third-bottom Barton Rovers.
