Gareth Ainsworth has been ‘blown away’ by the fans that have fundraised for cut-outs of supporters that have passed away.

In the Chairboys 2-2 draw against Fleetwood, several cut-outs were put around the ground of former fans and players who have died in the last few years, so they could have one last game.

The manager said: “It blows me away that this club, the culture we try and put in place is being lived, it’s not just words.

“It's not just something we say and I'm really proud that the fans have taken on and it comes from the fans, the players and all the stuff being together the way we are.

“It's a real, real nice moment and I'm sure many clubs will do it.

"But I'll have to say, it didn't come from me.

“It is from them and they deserve all the credit from that.

"It’s fantastic.

“I believe I'm an emotional guy, played on emotion and I think I manage on it as well.

"And I think it's a strength rather than a weakness.

“I won't be shy to tell the players how much the fans would give to be in here today.

“What they would give to be out on that pitch with you today fighting and so they'll be the messages.

“It’s phenomenal that they're thinking of the fans that aren’t here.

"A lot of fans would probably be thinking of themselves, I've got to get my own cardboard cut-out.

"Where some fans are thinking, no I want to get somebody who should be here, who would have loved to have been here and ex-players even, it's just great.”

Ainsworth also thanked fans have also waived their season ticket refunds for the remainder of the season.

“For people to say, look, keep my season ticket money and put it towards the playing budget or put it towards the club.

“I can't thank them enough.

“This is money we're talking about.

“This the food on table sometimes and they've given it to us because they love the club.

“They see what we're trying to do.

“But again, just thank you and I'll make the best I possibly can out of all the resources I'm given.”
