The Chairboys will travel to Wembley next Monday to compete for a place in the second tier of English football for the first time in the club’s history.

Ainsworth said: “I think that it is helping Wycombe a little bit with the fan situation and I think we do sometimes get the rough end of the stick, especially away from home.

“It's just still two penalties against us in two games.

“So obviously, I don't think the first one at Fleetwood was but today, they've got a legitimate one.

“But I do I think it does actually play into our favour a little but, you can hear instructions and they can hear the sub's getting behind them.

“We're a vocal group and we're really, really together. So, if there is any fans, it's amongst ourselves and that's helping.”

Ainsworth will be hoping that the players will be able to act as fans when they face Oxford United in the M40 derby at Wembley.

This is the first time the two have met in a play-off final, as the clubs will be fighting for a place in the Championship.
