Transfer Deadline Day concluded on October 16 and the manager was hoping to bring in one more new player before it closed.

He said: “There are some cracking players in this league [the Championship].

“You’ve got clubs paying millions of pounds on loan fees, never mind wages and transfer fees and we cannot do that.

“We know that we can’t attract the biggest players, but we will attract.

“There are some options to get free agents in and I’ll be working hard on that.

“I’m getting to know the squad better, looking forward to getting everyone back and keep putting performances in like that.

“Whatever will be will be with Wycombe in the Championship but I am really excited.

"We’re learning loads and what great experiences, I just wish there were 10,000 people to see it as we miss them.”

Following their promotion to the Championship in July, Wycombe secured the signatures of 12 new players this summer/autumn.
