Premier League sides Crystal Palace and West Ham United are interested in Reading FC full-back Omar Richards, the Reading Chronicle understands.

It is understood that Palace have had a long-standing interest in the 22-year-old, having tracked him for over a season.

It is also understood that West Ham United have inquired to Reading over the availability of Richards, although the Reading Chronicle understands that Reading will not discuss the players future until there is clarification over Richards' contract talks.

Contract talks with Richards over a new deal are in very early stages at that point, with the club seeing him as a prized asset.

The initial contract length discussed will be around four years.
