Wycombe Wanderers secured a morale-boosting victory on Tuesday afternoon, as they defeated Bournemouth’s under-21 side 4-1 in a practice match at Adams Park.

Alex Samuel, who has yet to score a goal this season for the first-team, bagged a hat-trick, whilst Jason McCarthy, who hasn’t played for the club since the 2-0 home defeat to Swansea on September 26, also got himself on the scoresheet.

He has missed the last six weeks with an injury.

The home side were 2-0 up at the break with Samuel scoring a header and a close-range finish.

Jaidon Anthony pulled one back for the visitors, but McCarthy’s header restored the two-goal advantage before Samuel completed his treble with another header.

Garath McCleary, who joined the Chairboys last week following his release from Reading in the summer, provided the cross for Samuel’s third.

The match also gave players such as Dominic Gape, who hasn’t played a minute since his sending off against Brentford in the EFL Cup back in September, Nick Freeman, and goalkeeper David Stockdale a run out at Adams Park.

Other players such as the club’s skipper Matt Bloomfield and B-Team representatives Andronicos Georgiou, Malachi Linton and Andre Burley also played in the practice match.
