Scott Kashket believes Wycombe’s two postponed matches will not impact the preparation for the FA Cup tie against Spurs.

After Wanderers defeated Preston North End in the third round of the competition on January 9, they were due to play QPR and Sheffield Wednesday respectively on January 16 and January 19 in the Championship.

Both matches were away from home but were called off due to Covid scares.

Wycombe’s match against the Owls was postponed after the Yorkshire-side revealed there was an outbreak at their camp, whilst Wanderers called off their game against the Hoops after a contamination at their training ground.

This will mean that the Chairboys wouldn’t have played a game in 16 days.

But this doesn’t bother Kashket, who is relishing the chance to face the club he supported as a boy.

He said: “I don’t think it [the postponements] have impacted the preparation as much, but we wouldn’t have spent the whole time preparing for this if the QPR game had been played.

“However, maybe our legs will be fresher.

"We’ve been at home resting so hopefully it’ll work in our favour."

The forward was also very complimentary of new signings Josh Knight and Admiral Muskwe.

The two players, who both signed on loan from Leicester City until the end of the season, impressed in the previous round against Preston, with Muskwe getting an assist and Knight scoring his first goal for the club in the win.

It is also rumoured that several new faces could be joining the club before the end of the transfer window this month.

He continued: “Josh Knight has been very good for us this season and I think he has played every game since signing, so for me, it was key that we kept him and Admiral has played one game for us but did very well.

“We’re looking forward to what else he can bring to our team and hopefully we will get a chance to play together.

“With all the games going on as they have been coming thick and fast this season, having more numbers in certain positions will help.”

Finally, on the 4-3 loss against Tottenham, a match that Kashket played in, he said: "The last time we played them, we were very unfortunate not to go through or get a reply, and it shows in a one off that anything can happen.

“I believe that the team will genuinely believe that they can beat Tottenham and go through.

“I also think it helps to have a home tie because of the size of the pitch, as having less space on the pitch will be better for us and not them as we’re used to it.”

After the Spurs tie, Wycombe’s next match is away to Brentford on January 30.
