Andre Burley is yet to feature in a first-team game for Wycombe but helped his national team in two wins in their World Cup qualifiers.

The centre back played his part in helping Saint Kitts and Nevis to the top of their qualifying group.

Gareth Ainsworth has praised the 21-year-old defender and believes there is scope for him to also play in midfield.

The manager said: “He's played in the B team games and he has done really well.

“We are trying to turn him into something other than just a centre back, he may struggle size-wise more than anything.

“He's got this capability of reading danger and we can see a defensive midfield player in him

“He is a cracking lad and always got a smile on his face.

“He played a part in two big wins and they are the top of the group for the World Cup qualifying.

“It is brilliant to have an experience like that under your belt before you have any first-team games.

“But I'm sure Andre is going to be one for the future and we'll be working to make sure that he stays grounded, works his socks off”
