Bournemouth manager Jonathan Woodgate has praised Wycombe Wanderers, as the Chairboys defeated the Cherries 1-0 at Adams Park.
The match was settled in the fourth minute when Uche Ikpeazu scored a brilliant strike from 25-yards, that flew into the top right-hand corner of Asmir Begovic’s goal.
This stunning goal sealed Wanderers’ first win over the South Coast side since October 2008.

More importantly, it gives Gareth Ainsworth’s men an outside chance of surviving in England’s second-tier, as Derby, who played Swansea on the same day, lost 2-1 at the Liberty Stadium.
However, despite having that mathematical chance of staying in the Championship, Wycombe will need to beat Middlesbrough on the final day of the season, and hope Rotherham United, Sheffield Wednesday and Wayne Rooney’s men drop points in their last match of the campaign.
What makes this even more difficult is that Derby play Wednesday in the season’s last game, with Wanderers also needing at least a 10-goal swing in their favour.
It’s a tall order, but Woodgate, who managed Middlesbrough last season, was still impressed with the way Wanderers conducted themselves.
Speaking after the match, he said: “Fair play to Wycombe as they scored an absolute worldie.

“I have never been to this stadium before and I had the privilege of playing at a really high level, but this is what it’s all about as Gareth Ainsworth has done a fantastic job here.
“For him to get them into the Championship and fight until the last day of the season is unbelievable.
“You can see how much it means to their players as they respect him, and I think it works both ways.
“It’s really good to see because sometimes when things aren’t going the way you want it to go, players can start turning their backs on the club and manager as that’s how managers lose their jobs.
“That team is an absolute credit to Gareth Ainsworth as he has done an exceptional job.
“It’s going to be nigh on impossible but they kept on going against us and they got them points.

“The performance they put in was good and every single one of their players worked for their team and manager, but you need to be realistic as well as optimistic.
“But credit to them.”
The win was Wanderers’ 10th in the league this season, as they remain bottom of the Championship.
However, they now move onto 40 points – joint with Rotherham and Sheffield Wednesday.
