A Wycombe Wanderers XI which consisted of trialists took on Chesham United in their first pre-season match this summer.

The friendly, which took place at The Meadow on Friday, July 9, ended in a 1-1 draw.

Chesham took the lead through one of their trialists in the 40th minute, before Wanderers equalised on the stroke of half-time.

The match was enjoyed by a crowd of around 500 fans with Wanderers captain Matt Bloomfield, along with B Team manager Sam Grace, taking the reigns in the dug out on Friday night.

Wycombe boss Gareth Ainsworth was also in attendance, as the 48-year-old presented the Chesham United junior side with several awards.

Following the draw, Wanderers are now preparing for their next friendly, which will be a behind-closed-doors affair against Stevenage on July 17.

The Chairboys will also take on Aylesbury United on Friday, July 23, Leicester City on Wednesday, July 28 and Hanwell Town on Friday, July 30.

The league season will start on Saturday, August 7 at home against Accrington Stanley.
