Wycombe Wanderers U18 continued their great start to the season with a 3-0 win against Penn & Tylers Green.

The game kicked off to a slow start but soon gained momentum as the girls settled into a 3, 5, 2 formation.

Chloe Mackay, Vic Collett and Amelia Sage put in a solid back line defence along with a rotating strong midfield of Char Hill, Jess Fuller, Lenis Cook and Summer Owen-Smith, which allowed the forwards to size up Penn’s portcullis.

Some great chances were created by the midfield with some excellent passing but at that point nothing was converted as Penn & Tylers put up some good defensive play.

However, it wasn’t long before a short corner from Char Hill to Naomi Tilley put Wycombe 1-0 ahead, before Tilly doubled their lead on the stroke of half-time.

The second half saw a more determined Penn, but they couldn't break down the Wycombe backline.

The bit was firmly between the Wanderers teeth and many more attempts were made from several of our players but to no avail as Penn battled on defensively.

And even though Wanderers finished the game with 10 players following a sending off, Naomi Tilley put a cross in from the left handside onto the waiting foot of Jess Gomes to make the score 3-0.
