Wycombe boss Gareth Ainsworth has hinted that he is not sure on whether he will ask the EFL to have their fixture against Gillingham postponed due to the international break.

The Chairboys are due to play the side from Kent on October 9 at Adams Park, but if several of their players are called up to represent their respective nations, the match could be moved.

At the start of September, Wanderers’ home match versus Ipswich Town on was moved to November 2, after Daryl Horgan, Anis Mehmeti and Tjay De Barr all received call ups for the Republic of Ireland, Albania and Gibraltar respectively.

The manager said: “There is no news yet.

“We’re assessing international call ups for the boys.

We keep it in-house.

“We’ve got five/six potentials who could be called up and we then assess it position-wise if they’re in or out of the team.

“It’s not a decision we take likely, but, we’ll see where we lie with that.

“You go from Andre, to Tjay, to Anis, Daryl, Sullay Kaikai and Adam Pryzbek are all potentials and to have call-ups to play for your country is the proudest moments of your career when you line up and hear that national anthem and play for your nation.

“I am proud of them and hopefully we can get several more.”
