Wycombe Wanderers manager Gareth Ainsworth believes that ‘no-one can touch’ the club’s current form, following their 2-1 away win at Burton Albion.

A first-half header from Sam Vokes and a second-half tap-in for Jordan Obita in front of the away fans secured the sixth and final play-off spot for the Chairboys.

They pipped Plymouth Argyle who lost 5-0 at home to Milton Keynes, which means Wanderers will now take on their Buckinghamshire rivals across two semi-final matches at the start of May.

Wycombe will host the first game on May 5, before they travel north of the county on May 8.

Ainsworth said: “Some people didn’t fancy us to do that but I never stopped believing, as well as those boys and those fans.

“Just like when David Wheeler didn’t stop believing when he won the ball back for Obita’s goal.

“At the moment, no-one can touch us for form in this league and that’s saying something.

“With all the big teams in this league, little Wycombe are the form team going into the play-offs.

“Rob will tell me off for saying we’re little Wycombe as we’re not little Wycombe anymore, and they’ve been great as they have invested money, have allowed me to work and some of the football and performances were outstanding.

“We were courageous and we will need to be like that for two more games.”

The two matches against MK will be the first time that both sides would have face each other in play-off semi-final.
