The following key dates have been released for the up-and-coming 2022/23 EFL seasons.

Due to this year’s World Cup in Qatar taking place in November and December, alterations have been made to the Football League diary.

The changes will see the league campaign begin in July rather than August, with there being no League Cup (Carabao Cup) matches taking place in September.

The season will also see the FA Cup final be played in June for the first time in its history.

The dates are as follows:

Fixtures released: Thursday, June 23

Season start: Saturday, July 30

Final day: Saturday, May 6

League One play-off final: Sunday, May 28
