A SUPERB display of disciplined bowling and fielding saw Wycombe Cricket Club to a comfortable victory in the opening league game of the season.

Controlled bowling from all of the Wycombe attack kept pressure on the Luton batsmen throughout the innings with the only player to show early season form was Dass with 38.

Wickets fell regularly and were shared around for all of the bowlers to have some confidence for the next match.

Wycombe's overseas signing, Jarrard Trevaglia, opened his account with a display of extremely fast and hostile bowling and finished with three for 32.

The ever-present Tim Scriven also claimed three wickets for a paltry 20. Paul Sawyer and Simon Bird had two victims each, and rounded off a powerful fielding display.

The Wycombe batsmen, after the early loss of captain Jason Harrison, made short work of the target, with Paul Sawyer (57 not out) and Mathew Eyles (26 not out) providng an array of shots all round the wicket, scoring the last 43 runs in only five overs.
