Wycombe Wanderers lost a behind-closed-doors friendly match at home to Maidenhead United.

The fixture, which took place on Monday, October 10 at Adams Park, saw the Non League team defeat the Chairboys 2-1 at Adams Park.

The home side had taken the lead through Jack Wakely's goal on nine minutes.

However, just 120 seconds later, Adrian Clifton equalised via a penalty before Shawn McCoulsky put the Magpies ahead just before the break.

Speaking on the match, manager Gareth Ainsworth said: "It was great to see these young boys develop.

"It’s a different style of football as we have got a duty to give that to them.

"They have been told by other clubs that they weren’t good enough similar to Anis Mehmeti and Chris Forino, and I believe those two will play in the top two levels without a doubt.

"So the younger boys got something out of it, whilst the older boys, they are professional and the professionalism they showed was great.

"And hopefully we can get everyone fit and ready as that’s the purpose of these games."
