Prior to Saturday's match against Sheffield Wednesday, I had the pleasure to speak to Ricky Charlesworth from Yorkshire Live on all things Owls.

What have you thought of Sheffield Wednesday’s season so far?
So far, so good.

Darren Moore refreshed the squad over the summer and made a point of signing players who know what it takes to get out of League One: Michael Smith, Michael Ihiekwe, and David Stockdale, who Wycombe fans will know all about.

The key difference this season has been turning games they would have lost last year into draws, and draws into wins.

They have only lost three out of 25 so far and are on a superb run of three months without loss in the league.

It's also just one defeat in 17 in all competitions, and even that came by way of a penalty shoot-out loss to Southampton in the EFL Cup.

Is anything but the top two a failure of a season for Wednesday? Considering how unpredictable the play-offs can be?
Absolutely.

Given the near-miss of last season and how strong the squad is - many believe it is a better squad pound-for-pound this season - then the top two has to be the target for Moore's men.

The club's last three tilts at the play-offs have ended badly so they will not want to chance it in the lottery again.

Who are Wednesday’s key players that Wycombe need to keep an eye out for?

Barry Bannan would normally be the go-to answer for this but there is a big chance that Wednesday's talisman will still be out injured for this weekend's trip south.

With that in mind, Josh Windass will surely be the man for Chairboys' defenders to keep a close eye on.

He's got five goals in his last two games and is in red-hot form.

After his classy hat-trick against Cambridge he popped up with a brace against Premier League side Newcastle in the FA Cup last week.

He applied a poacher's finish for his first, before keeping a calm head and slotting home the second. But for the crossbar, he would have sealed a second successive treble with an audacious free-kick.

Sheffield Wednesday have got a superior record over Wycombe, but Wanderers are unbeaten in their last two home against the Owls at Adams Park – how do you see it going?
I think Wednesday just have something about them this season and certainly go into this as favourites, thanks to that aforementioned scalp against Newcastle.

The only thing that threatens that is perhaps complacency but they've been on such a good run and for so long, that I don't see Moore or his players allowing it to creep in.

I'll go for a 2-0 away win.

David Stockdale and Denis Adeniran will return to Adams Park – how would you assess their respective seasons?
Both have had mixed bags.

Stockdale started as number one after swapping Wycombe for Wednesday and kept 11 clean sheets in his first 25 games - the highest tally in the division at that point.

But he was dropped for the Oxford game last month after allowing errors to creep into his game.

Since then, Cameron Dawson has made the shirt his own with three clean sheets in five and a superb performance in the win over Newcastle last week.

As for Adeniran, he endured a nightmare 2022 with injury meaning he played just six senior matches.

He's now back in the mix and put in a superb performance off the bench against the Magpies.

He could well start at Adams Park and if he does it'll be his first league start in more than a year.
