AN athlete who won a Gold medal at the 2012 London Paralympic Games is hosting a fundraiser in her hometown of Marlow.

Naomi Riches, who lives in the town, was diagnosed with a visual impairment as a baby and went on to have a successful career in competitive rowing - winning six world championship titles and a Gold medal at the 2012 Paralympics.

She retired from sport in 2013 and has since launched a motivational speaking business to encourage others to reach their full sporting potential.

A long-term resident of Marlow, Naomi was the beneficiary of a golden postbox, which stands proudly in the High Street and was painted in 2012 to celebrate her achievement at the Paralympics.

The sportswoman is also a patron of the Marlow Sports Club and is helping the club to improve their facilities by speaking at a fundraising event on February 24.

Marlow Sports Club's event 'An Evening with Naomi Riches' will take place on February 24, from 7pm.
