Wycombe manager Matt Bloomfield has revealed his positives from Wanderers' 2-0 home loss against Lincoln City.

A Daryl Duffy header and an incredible strike from Lasse Sorensen from his own half, gave the Imps their first win at Adams Park since September 2006.

But more importantly, the result has ended any hope of the Chairboys reaching the play-offs.

The defeat means the maximum number of points the club can get is 74, whilst Derby County currently sit in the final play-off place on 75.

When asked about the positives, in a day of negatives for Wycombe, Bloomfield told the Free Press: “Jordan Willis.

“I thought he was excellent when he came on.

“Chem Campbell gave us some energy when he came on.

“I was pleased with the way we came out and started the second half.

"We built that momentum but the second goal was a sucker punch.

“We had a few good chances, the keeper made a good few saves and on another day, we would have scored them.”

With two games remaining against Cheltenham Town and Portsmouth respectively, fears of complacency or ‘on the beach’ mode could sneak into the Chairboys' mentality.

But Bloomfield has brushed off this notion and wants his side to get six points from the final two games, as the club aim for a seventh-place finish.

He continued: “We’re professionals and we want to have pride in our performances.

“I’m excited for the future of this football club and what we can do.

“We need to move forward and we have got plenty to learn, and don’t get me wrong, I’m really disappointed in how things have ended this afternoon.

“I wanted to really push on and get into the play-offs but it wasn’t meant to be.

“However, despite this, we need to go out against Cheltenham and show pride in our performance.”
