Wycombe Wanderers manager Matt Bloomfield has provided an injury update following the club’s 1-0 away win at Northampton Town.

The Chairboys made one change to the side that lost to Sutton United in the League Cup on Tuesday night with Luke Leahy replacing Harry Boyes.

However, they are still without Jack Grimmer and Joe Jacobson, whilst Ryan Tafazolli and Dale Taylor, who went off in the victory against Bristol Rovers last weekend, were also absent.

Additionally, Richard Keogh, who scored in the victory at Sixfields, was taken off with a suspected shoulder injury despite his pleas to remain on the pitch, whilst Garath McCleary was also taken off with a ‘knock’.

Bloomfield said: “It’s important to rest and see where we are for Blackpool in two weeks time.

“We could see a couple come back, maybe, maybe not.

“It might be a bit too early for some as we’ve still got Jack [Grimmer] and JJ [Joe Jacobson out], along with Dale [Taylor] and Taff [Ryan Tafazolli].

“G-Mac [Garath McCleary] also got a knock too.

“The games are getting longer so this is a squad game, but I’m pleased with the way we saw out the game.

“This isn’t just about the players that are playing, it’s about everyone as the games are getting longer and we need the bodies.”

The victory at Sixfields also meant it was the first time in Bloomfield’s tenure that he had won back-to-back games as Wanderers’ manager.

It was also the club’s clean sheet in a league fixture since March, they the Chairboys defeated Bristol Rovers 2-0 at the Memorial Stadium.

Speaking on the defensive display, he added: " The lads were excellent in the way they went about the tactics we put in as a lot of the shots felt as if they were coming from outside the box which we knew they would do.

“Northampton have got a really high shot count and have forwards who can execute.

“But we kept them at arm’s length and I’m pleased with that.

“There is still a lot of things for us to work on but I am pleased and content with the points return from the first six games, especially after how the first two games went.

“The clean sheet was so important.

“After how the first two games went, we have been working a lot out of possession and we’ve seen that happen.

“This is a new group so you are going to be working in and out of possession to get the balance right.

To get an away clean sheet in a win is fantastic and I’m glad for the boys at the back.”
