Wycombe Wanderers manager Matt Bloomfield has reflected on his side’s 1-0 victory over Northampton Town.
Richard Keogh’s fifth-minute winner at Sixfields secured the club’s third win in four games as the Chairboys move up into ninth in the League One table – three points off top spot.
During the contest, Northampton dominated possession but were restricted to numerous shots from outside the box, whilst Max Stryjek was forced into a handful of saves.
Richard Keogh's goal comes 6,503 days after his first Wycombe appearance.

This is the longest space of time any Wycombe player has had from their debut to when their first goal was scored.
One for the pub quiz, that.

Speaking on the performance, Bloomfield said: “It’s been a really long and tiring week but the boys showed character and grit to get the win.
“It probably wasn’t the performance that we wanted in terms of how the game went, but, to get that early goal and have that determination away from home, which is our second in a week is very pleasing for us.”
On the second half substitutions, which saw several attacking players such as Brandon Hanlan, Tjay De Barr and David Wheeler come on, he added: “I think it changed the psychology of the game slightly for a bit.
"We changed formation a few times to try and get a food hold, and in the second half, we had the finishers come on in Tjay, Brandon and Wheels.
"They were brilliant as they gave us a lot of energy.

"Finally, when asked being three points off the top, he concluded: “It’s very pleasing to hear but we’re not going to get too carried away.
“It’s important for us to have level heads this will be a long season but we’re pleased with the strides we’ve made.
“I’m happy with the win.
“It’s a fine balance as we need to be happy with the result.”
