Wycombe Wanderers manager Matt Bloomfield has paid tribute to one of the club’s long-lasting fans who recently passed away.

Dave Finch, who began to support the Chairboys in the 1960s and would become a historian at the club, died suddenly earlier this month at the age of 73.

He was also a member of the Official Wycombe Wanderers Supporters Association committee and wrote the club's official history book in the 1990s.

On Dave’s passing, Bloomfield said: “Whenever we lose one of our own, it’s extremely sad.

“The way Dave supported us over numerous years shows we’ve got some incredible people who dedicate their lives to Wycombe Wanderers.

"And Dave was one of them.

“We need to be thankful for the support Dave gave us and the happiness he took from supporting us and we’ll always remember him.

“Our thoughts are with his family.”

A minute's applause in the 73rd minute of Wanderers’ away match against Peterborough on October 21 at London Road is expected to take place in Dave’s memory.
