Wycombe Wanderers manager Matt Bloomfield wants Dale Taylor ‘to score more goals’ following his strike in the recent 1-1 draw against Lincoln City.

It was the Northern Irishmen’s sixth of the campaign since joining on loan from Nottingham Forest in the summer, and only his fourth in the league.

His header against the Imps was also only the second time he has netted for the Chairboys at Adams Park, with his previous strike coming against Leyton Orient in August.

Bloomfield said: “I’m happy for him as I honestly believe he is a top player and a top boy.

“I like the way he trains, the way he applies himself and the way he wants to learn.

“He will do anything you ask him to do, and that includes playing in different positions up top and I thought he was brilliant.

“He’ll be a top player and he’s been unlucky not to have scored more goals for us.

“We want him to score more goals.”

As well as scoring against Lincoln and Leyton Orient respectively, Taylor has also bagged braces against the Fulham U21s in the EFL Trophy and Fleetwood Town in the league.

He also thought he had scored in the club’s 2-2 draw against Peterborough United in October, but his striker went down as an Ephron Mason-Clark own goal.
