Wycombe Wanderers manager Matt Bloomfield has thanked two loan players who have since returned to their parent clubs.

Central midfielder Kian Breckin and left-wing back Harry Boyes were both signed in the summer after several weeks of negotiations.

However, they departed Adams Park this January transfer window, as they have been recalled by Manchester City and Sheffield United respectively.

Breckin only played nine times during his brief stint in Buckinghamshire with two of those appearances coming in the league – they in the opening day home defeat to Exeter City in August, along with the late 1-0 away loss at Barnsley in November.

His other seven outings all came in the FA Cup, League Cup and EFL Trophy.

Boyes, who has since signed for Fleetwood Town from Sheff U, made 29 appearances for the Chairboys, which included 22 outings in the league, 17 of which were starts.

However, he was dropped from the team after the 1-0 defeat against Exeter City on Boxing Day, and wasn't included in any of the following four squads.

These were against  Leyton Orient, Bristol Rovers, Burton Albion and the West Ham United U21s, before he returned up north.

Bloomfield said: “We’ve been pleased with the impact the loan players have had in and out of the building here, but they don’t last forever and so you need to be open to that.

“These were the two that we knew would be coming [to an end] and we wish them all the best.

“Their application has been fantastic as they’ve fitted in with the group.

“Brecks didn’t get as much football as he or any of us would have hoped.

“And there is no comment on the other three at this moment in time.

“The other three have been great and we hope they’ll still be hear by the end of the season.”
