Wycombe Wanderers manager Matt Bloomfield has revealed that a ‘potential new face’ could join the club ahead of the transfer window’s conclusion.

The Chairboys have so far signed three players this month in Richard Kone, Gideon Kodua and Chem Campbell, whilst Richard Keogh, Tjay De Barr and Lyle Taylor have departed respectively.

Defensive midfielder Taylor Clark, goalkeeper Laurence Shala, striker D’Mani Mellor and left-back Declan Skura have also exited Adams Park this January, but are on loan deals to Non League clubs.

When asked if the pending result against Fleetwood Town this Saturday could change his plans in the transfer market, Bloomfield said: “No, but a potential new face could arrive before the end of the window.

“The result on Saturday won’t change my plans and we’ll try and execute them [any signings] in the best possible way.

“I don’t think we can just be reactive of one result.

“We’ve had several months to look at what we have and possibly don’t have, and we’ll do the best we can before the end of the window.

“There’s a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes, so we’ll see what happens.”

The 39-year-old was also asked about the potential re-signing of striker Uche Ikpeazu.

The forward is at Port Vale, and has been linked with a move back to Adams Park.

He was due to face the Chairboys last weekend, but Vale's match against Wanderers was postponed due to a frozen pitch.

Bloomfield said: "Uche’s someone who I think highly of.

"I got on well with him when we were teammates and he’s someone who I think extremely highly of.

"I’m not here to comment on individuals as I don’t think that’s right, but I rate him and he’s a good player."
