Wycombe Wanderers have confirmed the signing of midfielder Matt Butcher from Plymouth Argyle on a permanent deal.
The 26-year-old joins the Chairboys after reaching an agreement to leave Devon, in which he becomes the club’s fifth signing this January Transfer Window.
The ex-Bournemouth and Yeovil Town man was unveiled to his new fans during the half-time break of Wanderers’ EFL Trophy quarter-final fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion.
He will wear the number eight shirt which was last worn by Kian Breckin.
In a statement on the Plymouth Argyle website, they said: “Matt departs Home Park as a title-winner, and with our very best wishes for the future.”
Butcher once scored against Wanderers in the opening match of the 2021/22 season, when he netted a late goal for Accrington Stanley in a 2-1 victory for the Chairboys at Adams Park.
