Wycombe Wanderers manager Matt Bloomfield has reflected on his side’s 0-0 draw away at Blackpool on Easter Monday.

The result, which saw the Chairboys keep their 16th clean sheet of the season, means they remain 13th whilst the Tangerines drop to ninth.

Both sides could have won it at Bloomfield Road in the final seconds, but Sam Vokes hit the crossbar whilst Franco Ravizzoli produced two stunning saves in the dying embers.

Here’s what Bloomfield had to say.

On the performance

“We weren’t poor on Friday but we weren’t at the top of our game and to concede three at home is very disappointing.

“Tactically, we were very good and we worked on that before we left yesterday [March 31], and a clean sheet on the road is very good, even when it opened up near the end.

“This is a tough place to come and it’s been a very quick turnaround after the match against Portsmouth on Friday.

“It was a long trip up against a side who are fighting for the play-offs, but to get a point on the road is very good.

“We’re a decent team ourselves despite carrying a few injuries ourselves.

“For the lads who came in and performed well, I’m pleased for them and we could have could got something near the end.”

On Josh Scowen’s injury

“We don’t know the severity of the injury.

“He blocked a shot and got a knock.

“He wanted to carry on but we couldn't take that risk.

“One good thing about the depth we have is that we had Freddie Potts to bring on who I thought was excellent.

“We’ll give it a few days a see where we are at.”

On Chris Forino’s display

“I thought he was excellent as he’s been chomping at the bit.

“He’s been very unfortunate this season as he’s been ill, then did his ankle so he’s been out.

“Also, Ryan Tafazolli, Nigel Lonwijk and Joe Low have also done well this season so circumstances have been tough, but he was brilliant today.

“Circumstances have been against him but he was brilliant today.”

On squad selection for Wembley

The last thing I wanted was to go to Wembley next week with poor league form hanging over us.

“Our form has been good recently and our performances have been really good.

“A point and clean sheet on the road can’t be sniffed at, as I wanted selection headaches going into the final as places are up for grabs.

“We’ve got some players that can’t play next week, but our squad depth is very good so having a headache like this is good.”
