Wycombe Wanderers’ winless run has now stretched to five in all competitions following a 0-0 draw away at Burton Albion.
The Chairboys went into their bout against the side from Staffordshire with no wins from four, which includes a run of three straight defeats.
Seven goals were conceded in those three games without reply, and following the 1-0 home loss to Plymouth Argyle in midweek, Michael Duff made two changes.
Out went Connor Taylor and Bradley Fink, and in came Dan Casey and Alex Lowry.
Despite the changes, it was the hosts who looked more likely to score as goalkeeper Will Norris was on hand to make several important stops.
Wycombe’s number 50 denied Tyrese Shade on two occasions, whilst Jake Beesley also went close.
The Brewers continued to look more likely to score as Julian Larsson tried his luck, but again, Norris was on hand to thwart him, before Shade went close once more.
From a defensive display, the opening 45 was good for Wycombe, but they lacked any real threat up top, as they ended the half with one shot on goal, which wasn’t on target.
The second period saw Wanderers improve as Fred Onyedinma forced Bradley Collins into a good stop, before the Nigerian had another go in the second period, but saw his attempt go wide.
The best chance of the half fell to Burton’s Toby Sibbick, who struck the post from range, and in the dying embers of the contest, Onyedinma saw his header go just wide of the mark.
This was at the end of nine minutes of added-on time.
The reason for the long stoppage was due to referee Neil Hair colliding with Luke Leahy on the hour-mark.
He was unable to continue and was replaced by the fourth official, Richie Watkins.
The result means Wycombe move up one place into 12th on 25 points, seven off the play-offs and three clear of the relegation.
However, the Chairboys are now winless in five and have not scored in their last four matches.
Up next is Bolton Wanderers at home on December 20, which is the club’s final game of 2025 at Adams Park.
They will then end the year with two back-to-back away games at Luton Town on Boxing Day and Plymouth Argyle on December 29, respectively.
