Wycombe Wanderers have reportedly agreed a fee with Exeter City to sign striker Jayden Wareham.
The Chairboys, who have been looking to secure the services of a proven League One striker all summer, seem set to acquire the 23-year-old former Chelsea and Reading forward.
The Adams Park team initially had an offer rejected not long after the league season began, but transfer expert Pete O’Rourke confirmed via social media on August 31 that the two clubs had ‘agreed a deal’ to bring him to Buckinghamshire.
Wareham, who was born and raised in Ascot, Berkshire, and has family living in nearby Slough, has played 56 times for the Grecians since joining last summer, scoring 19 goals in all competitions.
All of those strikes came in the previous campaign, as City were relegated to League Two after a four-year stint in the third tier.
He has played three games for the club this season, but was not included in their matchday squad when they played away at York on August 30.
So far this summer, Wycombe have signed goalkeepers Matt Macey and Conor Hazard, centre back Steve Cook, winger Silko Thomas and forward Cauley Woodrow on permanent deals, while Emre Tezgel, Sam Parker and Malik Mothersille on loan.
