BLUES boss Peter Taylor says referee Keith Woolmer was right to award Aldershot’s first goal on Saturday, even though his assistant had raised his flag.
Kirk Hudson side-footed home after 12 minutes, but an upraised flag from the linesman on the opposite side of the field provoked strong protestations from the Blues players when Woolmer pointed to the centre circle.
Taylor said: “The assistant referee put his flag up, so they [the Wycombe players] just asked the referee, in a very, very controlled way.
“I think they were entitled to ask, but the assistant referee is telling me that he thought somebody headed it in.
“If he’d touched it, then I think it would have been offside, but that wasn’t the case.”
