PIPPA Woolven beat athletes two years her senior to win the U17 Chiltern League Cross Country race at Slough.
The 15-year-old Sir William Borlase’s student led from the front to claim victory seeing off the challenge of Melissa Hawtin from Oxford as she added the title to her victory in the previous U17 event at RAF Halton.
Dougie Sutherland, chairman of her club Wycombe Phoenix Harriers said: “The confidence and determination she showed in winning means she can only get better.”
But she wasn’t the only Phoenix runner on the podium.
Robert Sutherland and Toby Wapshare were first and second in the U13 boys, while for the U17men Issac Nahoor and Callum Slade were second and third and in the U15s Tom Claessans was third.
