THE shop assistant whose stunning goal helped knock Wycombe Wanderers out of the FA Cup is on his way to Wembley.
Eastwood Town’s Lindon Meikle scooped the EON Player of the Round award after his 25-yard strike sent the Badgers into the third round of the FA Cup for the first time in the club’s history at Wanderers’ expense.
His strike, coupled with a late second from prison officer Peter Knox, helped the Badgers to a 2-0 win over Peter Taylor’s league leaders.
Meikle will receive VIP hospitality for himself and a guest to the FA Cup Final on May 30 and a trophy.
