TONY Adams watched his Wycombe side get relegated after this awful display at Adams Park led to a second defeat in three days. A Eugene Dadi brace killed the blues off before the half time whistle.

Wycombe were 1-0 down after just 11 minutes when a Chris Vinnicombe mistake fell to Dadi who scored easily passed Wycombe's emergency signing Lee Wargon, whose attempt was lame to say the least.

That goal relegated Wycombe, all the heads went down and Wycombe were in trouble. A passionless performance frustrated the excellent support for the home team.

It was not until the 26th minute that Wycombe had a chance when Darren Currie's free kick was well saved by Rovers goalkeeper John Achterberg. Craig Faulconbridge's header from the resulting corner summed up Wycombe's season awful.

Although stand in keeper Worgan had made an unimpressive start he made two stunning saves that stopped the the score getting as high as Wycombe deserved, both of these shots were from visiting striker Gary Jones who had strolled through the home defence as if it wasn't there.

Tranmere made it two on the stroke of half time when Currie's useless clearence fell to Paul Hall who set Dadi up for another easy goal.

The first half had not been good, the worst performance under Adams, easily. The lazyness of the midfield and uninspiring performances by so called star players' Currie and Michael Simpson showed that the Blues had resigned themselves to relegation.

At the beginning of the second half Charlie Mapes replaced the disappointing Chris Vinnicombe and at the end of the first half Faulconbridge had been replaced by Mark Philo.

Ten minutes after the break Johnson hit the post from a Currie corner.

That was as inspiring as it got for Wycombe and in desperation Johnson was chucked forward by Adam's, in an attempt to get back in the game.

It did not work until the 88th when Johnson met a Currie corner and scored a brilliant header but this was just a consilation goal as the whistle blew just two minutes later.

This performance was a disgrace and Wycombe players need to be totally ashamed of such an awful display. With performances like this Wycombe will struggle to stay in Division Three next season let alone win promotion.
